Yes.
Well, I have used one in one of my R-1004s, and I can attest to its high-quality and
usefulness. I highly recommend his SS 1L6 to anyone who needs one.
The 1L6, in my experience, is a crappy tube anyway. It is easily pulled off frequency by too
strong RF input, and doesn't last very long. It is a piece of crap, and yet there is nothing,
until now, which can replace it.
The SS 1L6 is both far quieter than the real 1L6, will NOT pull off frequency under high
levels of input, and appears to last forever. In addition, there are no circuit changes required
to use it: just plug it in.
In my opinion, Edward has done a superb job.
The 1T4 he made for me is very much like his 1L6: lower noise, simple plug-in replacement,
etc.
Genius.
