[ARC5] Flight Command Movie

A few days ago I caught the last 20 min or so of a 1940 Robert Taylor movie, "Flight Command."  It depicted Fighting 8, flying Grumman F3F-3 biplane fighters.

One of the aircraft loses its engine and makes a crash landing an a beach in California.  Another F3F pilots lands and puts the injured pilot in his airplane's baggage compartment.  In order to do that he had to remove his transmitter, and he pulls out and tosses aside something that did indeed look like a GF transmitter.  Fog closes in on NAS North Field before the squadron can get there, so the pilot carrying the injured man uses an new experimental blind landing receiver to land in the fog, the others with him in close formation.
