Exactly. This is my primary concern too. Although I don't own a particularly "excessively
stabilized" frequency counter, I DO own two which have internal ovens for the time-base,
and I also own an HP-8640B. The frequency counter I have on my bench exhibits a time
base which is continually within a Hz or so of WWV at 10 MHz, but that is the best I can do
at this point.
As soon as I can get to it after all of this season's family matters are taken care of, I intend
to do some work on this subject and will report my results here.
