Hi
The point being that indeed people *did* regulate filament voltages along with B+ voltages on the oscillator
circuits in military radios. They simply didn’t do it on all radios. For that matter, they also didn’t seem to do
it on LM or BC-221 frequency meters either. As you point out, there are always multiple constraints on any
design,
