[ARC5] Stupid Stick

A few years ago I was working on an HP variable power supply. I "fixed" it accidentally when I cranked it up to run the diagnostics in the manual and found it mysteriously working just fine. I then broke it again when I opened it up to replace a bad cooling fan and some loose leads shorted out.

After replacing various ICs and throwing away unneeded subassemblies that were a cause of problems I finally I had it working in a way that it utterly baffled me.

It would put out the correct voltage but still refused to light the 12V car headlight I was using as a load bank. Eventually I found that the headlight had burned out. It really was working just fine, perhaps not exactly per the manual be easily good enough for me.

If anyone ends up with an HP6002A power supply I have some advice for you.
