Yes. First idiot like that I ever ran into was when I was about 18. A junk-yard guy had an NIB 
Model "A" Ford engine he had found somewhere.

I can't remember what he wanted for it, but it was way more than I or my friends could afford.

He told us that if he didn't get what he wanted for it, he would smash it up for the iron in 
it....and he did.

I cannot fathom that kind of thinking.
