Before GPS Selective Availability was deactivated Loran-C had better repeatability than GPS with SA.

To enhance accuracy and repeat ability near harbors the Coat Guard instituted DifferentialGPS on LF frequencies previously occupied by Maritime non-directional beacons.

Selective Availability was eliminated but DGPS is still active because it enhances the accuracy of Satellite based GPS.
