Yes 100 pf CRC ( AMERICAN) Barrel tx capin series works fine for me too on 80 meters,I use the vacuum cap in the BC-441 in series for 40 metersBoth are connected through the bc441 to 4:1 balun to
bring the impedance within the upper range of 10-12 ohms of the Tx units. The rollers on both units are at about 40 to 50%.I get a little over 50w CW on both running with the BC456's dynamotor @ 25V.

As I’ve mentioned before, connecting the series cap from the antenna post to ground forms an “L” network that works FB for loading into an end-fed half wave wire antenna.Voltage rating of the cap more of a consideration here than in the series connection but have found the gray, cylindrical Russian caps to work FB in this configuration as well.

As most of you know, I put a fixed capacitor between the ANT postand the center-conductor of the coax leading to a 50-Ohm loadwhen matching WWII Aircraft rigs to “ham” antennas.I’ve recommended Hi-Voltage caps and, I confess, have doneso because it seemed intuitively “right” to do so.I always meant to do some tests.  Finally did, and I’m very surprised at the results.
