Hello Jim,
I started a new thread. For others that read this I'll explain that we
began a discussion about drawing and drawing software.
The topic turned to TinyCAD - freeware from Source Forge by Matt Pine
(or Pyne).
Apart from one or two minor "gripes" I find TinyCAD a nice package, and
I like to use public domain software. It gives those who put in a HUGE
effort some reward for their work. As you saw, I used it to draw (or
re-draw) the circuit for the SCR-274-N transmitter.
You asked about symbols available. Speaking generally there are many
symbols, most generated by individuals who use TinyCAD, not by Matt
Pyne. I think he's interested in the software, not the symbols. Some
symbols are drawing nicely, while others are simply weird! The symbols
are available in libraries made by individuals; I don't know of any
"official" library. Perhaps I should assemble one!
You asked who drew the symbols for vacuum tubes. I did.
Few people work with "toobs" now-days.
I admire circuits published by the ARRL or in Wireless World (in the
UK).
They are elegant; they are works of art. They are a joy to read.
If you get TinyCAD and you have a question about installation or
operation, send a message!
