>From measuring the ID at the large end of a batch of unused Fahnestock
clips that I have here for building A-82's, you might possibly use them on
standard grid caps as on a 6K7 or 6R7. The ID seems to be between 0.210" and
0.220" and the diameter of a grid cap is a nominal 0.250". When compressed to
hold a wire, the ID drops down to around 0.187. So you would have to solder
the wire to them. I did not crawl into the shop attic for a 1625 to
measure but the plate cap diameter is at least 0.375". So no way would you be
able to use a Fahnstock clip there.
Someone else already said that they had two 1625 size plate clips that he
would send. So I would forget the Fahnstock clips. I'm sure that I have
some as well. Postage is going to cost considerably more than most of you
probably think. For one thing, the first increment is 0 to 4 ounces. For
another, if you want them to be usable when they arrive, they will have to be in
a box. Without looking it up, I would guess $15.00.
