[ARC5] Command Set Shaft Collar Nut

Threads on "command" radio receivers.
I refer to the thread used between the tuning system and the receiver.
I measured the thread using a thread gauge.
I found the thread was 27 turns to the inch (and NOT 28 tpi)
Using Newnes Workshop Handbook I read that (1) the thread was 1/2 inch
cycle thread
(2) this thread was considered to resist "unwinding" due to vibration.
That's all I know.
Except I thought it was very clever to use a thread that resisted
working free in equipment subject to vibration.
How did those radio guys know about bicycle threads? Hmmm?
