Go to O'Reilly Auto Parts and buy a can of Aircraft Paint Remover(about $13
for a Qt.). Don't try anything else, because the Aircraft Paint Stripper is
the best.

Use gloves and a slam size brush. Be careful because this thing is very
corrosive.
Have fun!

Subject: [Milsurplus] MFP - how to remove?
I have a BC-454 here which someone back in about 1950 tried to convert to
cover 10 meters. After a long discussion on the ARC-5 forum, I managed to
get it to work very well.
But the MFP all over the case looks awful. I managed to get most of it off
the cover, and polished that up with Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish, but
the rest of it resisted everything I tried to remove it. Acetone didn't
work. A stainless steel brush and my Dremel takes off some of the surface,
but not all of it.
So, how do I get all of it off and get down to bare aluminum?
Gee...
