I wouldn't compare glass dielectric to mica because glass is a mixed bag
like ceramics are.  Mica is crystalline while glass is an amorphous melt
that could contain anything found in your kitchen sink.  So no doubt Corning 
developed a glass formula with the right ingredients for stability and low 
lass.  Playing Donald Trump the Chemist, probably pretty pure silicon with 
just the right spices added.  Oh, yeah, they would be the best at keeping 
out moisture.
