A while ago, I was helping a fellow finish cleaning up his SK father's ham stuff, and we
found a box of 10 or 12 very special tubes.
I cannot remember the number on them, but they were used in HF aircraft transmitters in the
UK during WWII. Some research said something about Spitfires, but I don't remember much
now.
How he got an entire box of those brand-new, I'll never know. They have a strange looking
base on them, and as far as I remember, they were some form of British triode, possibly with
the number 10 on them. They DO NOT resemble in any way that I could see our U.S. 10
tube though. It looked to me as though they should be good for something like 30 watts
output.
But, the son would like to sell these if anyone is interested.
If there is more interest here, I will go find out the details.
