[ARC5] Antenna for small yard

I appreciate that a feedline is necessary. In fact, I built a tuner to
match the BC-230 and ARC-5 to 300 ohm TV ribbon, intending to use that. The
tuner works superbly.

It consists of a coil, fed at the center by a 2-turn link. Each end is
connected to an ARC-5 transmitting capacitor (fixed) and one gang of a
3-gang BCB capacitor, simulating a split-stator capacitor. I soldered 2 x
560 ohm in parallel across taps on the coil to simulate a 300 ohm dummy
load. The resistors get too hot to touch after 2 seconds, indicating that
the BC-230 is putting 5W into them.
I have circa 8 metres of 300 ohm TV ribbon. I have no doubt that if I
connected the ribbon to the taps and moved the resistors out to the end of
the ribbon, the same would result. If I can use this ribbon I'd be happy.
The antenna does not need to stay up week after week. It is acceptable for
me to take it down after each weekly AM net and bring it and the TV ribbon
inside.
