For the transmitter, you would LIGHTLY couple to the output of the VFO, or even MORE
lightly couple, possibly by something as simple as a small short "antenna" near the
transmitter antenna.
You could try to connect to pin 3 of the 1626, but the level there may be too low. You can try
pin 8 of the 1626, but any added capacitance there will effect the output frequency. I would
connect, LIGHTLY, to pin 4 (grid) of either 1625.
For the receiver, you would have to LIGHTLY couple to the output of the HFO, which would
be to either pin 6 (plate of HFO) or to pin 5 (grid of HFO) of the 12K8 mixer, then input the
IF frequency as your offset. For instance, the frequency of the HFO minus 1415 kHz for the
80 meter receiver.
By LIGHTLY couple, I mean as little as 1 or 2 pfd of capacitance. Possibly simply wrapping
a bit of insulated wire around one of the leads to the pins above and connecting the other
end to the counter. It depends on how sensitive the counter is.
Remember that any added capacitance in any oscillator circuit will effect the output
frequency a bit.
