Our sheriff's dept acquired some surplus OH-58's and three UH-1H's, both for flying and for spare parts. Interestingly enough, the flying UH-1H came from the USAF where it was used as an "aggressor" aircraft; it has a unusual paint job.

As far as I have been able to determine most of these aircraft came equipped with ARC-114 FM, ARC-116 UHF, and ARN-89 ADF. I presume they had ARC-115 VHF as well but I have not seen any. The ARC-114, ARC-115, and ARC-116 all use similar connectors with minor clocking differences; it appears to be possible to build a "universal" harness for those sets. I was disappointed that the UH-1H did not come with HF SSB!

I acquired an ARN-30 from the sheriff's dept that came from another sheriff dept with a pile of spare parts and was of no interest to them; unfortunately they did not think to save the racks. In researching these avionics I found that the ARC T-11/T-13 transmitters were used as back-up VHF transmitters in some UH-1's, presumably in conjunction with the ARN-30

As Mike says, this is an impressive array of electronics for such a relatively small aircraft. But then, an ARC-116 is almost the exact same size and weight as just an ARC-27 control box. If they had to carry all the early 50's stuff it would probably would have been a 2 seat chopper.
