I can tell the group the exact difference between the RAL/RAK 6 and 7: the 
antenna and the ground connector was changed from a large "push" type 
similar to but much larger than the antenna connector on the ARC-5 
transmitters, to a Navy large concentric connector with shield, probably 
identical to the one we have been talking about which was used in the 
RBB/RBC, and this was the only change.

That between the 7 and the 8 was a change to phenolic rather than brass 
identification plates behind or over all the knobs and switches, and most 8s 
that I am familiar with were made by Motorola.
