The actual voltage is not super critical, however, you may want to verify that there is b+ on pin 3 of the magic eye tube, It has a bypass cap c58b .05 uf on the plate (pin 3) which may be leaky or shorted. disconnect it and see if the tube glows then.The eye should normally have the "pie shadow" when not seeing resonance.

I had 239V on the oscillator power input and got no glow on the 1629.  All the filaments are lit FB but no joy.  Any checks I could do before ordering a new magic eye tube? they are connected to the oscillator plate supply.

If you are not truly familiar with how to prevent the screens being
inadvertently powered up, the best option by far is simply to pull
both 1625s from their sockets.
