But note that there are some errors in the Wikipedia article.  For one, 
AN/ARC-5 as designed is perfectly capable of being operated on CW, despiet what 
the Wikipedia article says.  The author took the fact that most late-war 
installations had CW disabled as meaning that the equipment couldn't operate 
CW.  But it all depends upon how it is connected.

Unfortunately, you are going to find that the quality of most free online 
manuals varies between poor and very poor.  TANSTAAFL.

R-26/ARC-5 and R-27/ARC-5 are HF receivers covering respectively 3.0-6.0 MC 
and 6.0-9.1 MC.  They are designed to operate from 24-28 VDC supplies, with 
the 250 VDC to operate the tubes being generated by a dynamotor that clips 
onto the back deck of each receiver.  They have no local controls for 
ON/OFF, AM/CW or gain control as they were designed for remote tuning and 
operation.
