I googled them and it appears that they have been around since 1958. They also make some insanely expensive Audiophool tubes.

Hello, regarding my BC-191 which is missing all four VT-4C tubes I found a replacement on eBay. There are new 211 made in China by Shuguang offered at about $50 each. I never heard of this company and wonder if anybody has any experience good or bad with these tubes. vy 73 Heinz DH2FA, KM5VT

Hello, while we are at the 211 or VT-4C I bought a BC-191 last Saturday at a swapmeet in The Netherlands. The transmitter has a tag from French military and unfortunately came without the VT-25 and all 4 VT-4C had burned filaments. Also 34 cabinet screws are missing. These are black brass flathead screws 8-32 and 3/8 long.Unfortunately these screws are not available in Germany. The transmitter came with a TU-5 tuning unit. I would like to bring it back in the air on either 80m with a TU-6 or 40m with a TU-8.Anybody can help?vy 73 Heinz DH2FA, KM5VT

It seems the "Audio Gurus" who regularly fleece the audophoolery sheep have found themselves a stash
of United Electronics 211s. As before, they then write
articles and post web stuff on how much "better" this
brand "sounds" than even a Western Electric. They get out the shears and the audio sheep line up to be shorn again; anything to remain
a member of the "ain't we so audio special" club.

If you have any United Electronic 211s with the shock mounting dimple on top, this would be the time to trot them out and put them on Ebay.
These "feeding frenzies" typically don't last long.
