Thanks for being the one to point that out. That's the sort of nonsense
*I* would do but then I am a Michigan Hillbilly. Sometimes I catch
enough flak for that so you took the heat off me. I use those 9 volt
batteries for a ~90 volt or ~45 volt B+ in receivers. I don't buy the
five dollar ones. I get the cheaper, no-name alkalines for around or a
little less than a dollar each. Unless you want auditorium filling audio
they last a long time (weeks to months) and I use cans so they are
reasonable. Some hams use them for the plate supply in vacuum tube QRP
transmitters where they give reasonable service. I think I am going
there, too.
