G'day all,
Following my last post about unit identification, I must commend David
Stinson's article "Identifying Command Set "ARC-5" Transmitters". If
you're a new reader on this list - this will help you distinguish one
set from the other based on appearance/photographs.
As a result I have begun to see units that are made of part o' this and
part o' that.
Example: www.eBay.com/itm/162082779178 by electrojunk.
See also www.eBay.com/itm/371638218331
The top cover says "T-19". The dial suggests T-20.
Or the top cover says T-20 and the dial suggests T-19.
Clearly the manufacturer got the lids mixed up, and they have been wrong
for 70 years!!!
(Wow! Careless manufacturer!)
Now, this is rather like a penny black stamp. Very rare.
However if some careless collector buys BOTH sets and then swaps the
covers, both tops will match the bases, and both units will instantly
loose their value. HA!
