[ARC5] Just Wodering!

The Navy had then and has now a sophisticated set of hand signals that allow near-perfect communication between members of the same flight. Even in the jet age, radio communication was minimized to prevent unwanted interception. I believe this is still true today.
Great book on Navy flying from the Hellcat through the Tomcat: Feet Wet, by Gillcrist. Walks through specific Vietnam-era situations where hand signals were used instead of radio.

This is an interesting site that I seem to have missed before.  I
love the mimeograph artwork on the cover.
