No. Not bad. You should be able to adjust it to tune the entire 160 meter
band: OR you could simply replace the tuning cap, remove the added
parallel caps, and return the receiver to original condition.

That tuning cable mount simply screws in: there is a "nut" on the back-side. It
is "pinned" to prevent rotation, but the pin is very small and easily overcome.
I have total junkers here from which I can rob those parts if you want them.

We can exchange photos to make sure we are talking about the same part.
