Jeep,

A homebrew BFO addition to a Type 12 receiver is expertly documented in WU2D's YouTube video: Command Set Receivers, Part 4. Works perfectly, he also discusses adding a crystal filter and a Q Multiplier...

I elected to remove the IFT set and the "front-end coil rack (and other usable parts). I intended to use an available coil-less BC-453 as a conversion chassis. However, the IFTs from SCR-274-N, although schematically same, are mechanically different. They won't simply plug in. The mounting tab plate is rotated slightly. OK... at least I understand the issues. Looking at the A.R.C. R-10 and R-11, I found that the coils, although again schematically same, the coils are not mounted via chassis plugs. They are hard-wired. So, can't do it that way. Bottom line is, does anyone have a Navy ARC-5/R-23 in good condition, perhaps sans IFTs? I've got this very nice, un-modified BC-453 (no IFTs) or a perfect working condition ARC R-11 that could be traded.
