[ARC5] [Milsurplus] RT-427/ARC-39

Given the slower transition by the Navy to SSB, especially in
training/utility roles, it is understandable how radios such as the ARC-2
and ART-13 could soldier on into the seventies, but the ARC-39 is strange
indeed, given that it was BUILT in the mid to late fifties. (I have an
example that was built in 1959)

Yes. My set with the PNSCLA First Quarter 1970 stickers also have D&R NORIS
2/66 REP. stickers, plus a FEB 23 1959 white paint stamp on the RT-427.
It's an anachronism, AM in the 1960s. I doubt there are many mil/gov sets
afterwards that incorporated MF/HF AM transmission. The 1971 AVCO TAR-224A
is the only thing that comes to mind at this moment.
