Continuing on with my BC-348-Q work.......
Some observations and a question.
In Table D (Resistances between Socket terminals and Ground) there are
several entries for the Suppressor Grid and Cathodes. These values assume
that the resistance of the Volume Pot at "Max" is 0. if not, you need to
add it to the table entries. Mine reads about 400 ohms at "Max" measured
between the Wiper and ground. So, those 250 ohm table values will read
near 700 ohms. I suppose that wasn't a problem in 1941.
The measured value of the volume pot (across the ends) depends if the
dynamotor is installed. Mine shows about a 3K variance (lower when the
dynamotor is installed). Non of the other table entries seem to care if
the Dynamotor is installed or not.
My Question. Resistor 94-2 is the 80K resistor connected to the ungrounded
terminal of the volume pot. With this in the circuit, a great many of the
values in the table should be much higher. My measured values agree with
all the table values. How can that be? The 80K resistor is in series
with the volume pot! 80K Isn't insignificant in this context.... It's
easy to isolate this resistor; it's there and it measures near 80K.
