[ARC5] Manual Errors

First, let me say that I have found some large resistance measurement errors in the Heathkit HW-100 manual. I bought an HW-100 on ebay years ago and decided to first run through the final pre-power on steps in the manual. A few were a bit off but one was huge, or the order of millions of ohms difference. I could find nothing wrong and finally did a circuit analysis that proved the manual data was wrong in a manner that made no difference even if the tubes were in their sockets or not. I finally gave up and powered it up; all was pretty good.

Second, in response to the question from Les in regards to manual accuracy, note that it is common practice for military manuals to have revisions. I used to rewrite Air Force technical manuals in order to add info or correct errors, and the mistakes that could be found on occasion were downright breathtaking. One in particular I completely rewrote I wondered if it had been written by a dumb American or a smart Russian. It is very difficult to know if you have all the required revisions, and for a manual that old it may well be effectively impossible.

So, Good Luck!
