Not curmudgeonly at all! Especially since one of the list members are saying that his email is being spoofed! A very smart practice because PDFs ( or what appears to be one) are one of the vehicles for delivering the cryptolocker and other ransom ware.

Well, of course I am happy for Ronnie after the fact, but as a personal policy matter I still won't open any e-mail that doesn't have a tiny sentence or two from the author that identifies what it is intended to convey. I have everything locked down sixteen ways from Sunday, including the latest anti-ransomware software, but something like, "I just got my xxxx license (or whatever)! PDF copy attached."...or at least has some sense of its content....is all that's needed to instill some confidence. How much time does it take to do that? Twenty seconds? Why the big mystery that causes many people to forgo including any clue?
End of periodic curmudgeonly contribution... :-)
