[ARC5] bogus E-Mails

Be really careful. Scammers are getting very sophisticated these days.

I recently received an email from the IRS. I clicked on the sending email address and sure enough it took me to the official Government website. But when I clicked on the email address where it said to send my reply to their request for personal data, it had a suffix location the the UK.

Of course, I deleted it and did nothing because I know that the IRS never phones or emails a taxpayer as an initial contact, that initial contact is always done via the U.S. Mail.

Same thing goes for phone scams. They have a way to program a local area phone number to show on your number ID to try and fool you into thinking its a local caller so you'll pick up even though they are calling from wherever.

The Federal government should be policing these deadbeats but they do nothing...

Anyways, be careful when asked to respond with any kind of personal information.

I have absolutely no idea as to what this is about. However, if replying to that E-Mail address remember that the person, on the other end, is NOT K9STH!
