There were some very large "Leyden Jars" made back then.

The series is on Netflix, and we watch it here regularly. We find it to be very
enjoyable. The series is produced in Canada.

The scenario is that Murdoch, a detective with the Toronto police, is very
interested in the latest technology of the time. A very early dirigible figures in
one episode.

Other episodes include visits from folks like Alexander Graham Bell, Sir
Arthur Conan Doyle, H.G. Wells, Nicolai Tesla, etc.

Another series somewhat similar are the "Miss Fisher Mysteries" produced
in Australia.
