Subject: [ARC5] Airpax power supply
Once again I seem to have found an oddball piece of gear with an even
more oddball modification. In this case, it's a synchronous vibrator
power supply that replaced the B batteries in a portable
transmitter/receiver made by an as-yet unidentified company but which
looks similar to low-power AM field radios made by Morrow, Humble,
Spilsbury, etc.
The power supply is model A-1064 made by Airpax Products Co. for Air
Associates (their p/n RD-13520-4). The vibrator is Airpax p/n A-1130
and is marked as 6V 400 cycles. It is in a sealed metal can with an
octal plug that fits into a socket on the end of the power supply
module. The supply is clearly meant for airborne service and thus
would be kind of neat to get working although as of yet I haven't made
any of those good vibrations happening.
Realizing it's a long-shot I just wondered if anyone might have come
across a similar power supply?
