Oh, I absolutely agree with you, David.

I posted that information not to suggest that we (or you) should follow his 
example, but in order to provide some more ideas.

Personally, I think your plug-in adapter is a really excellent idea. It prevents 
making any mods to the receiver, yet accomplishes your purpose.
