"Beginning of the End"  as presented on Mystery Science Theater 3K back in the day is available on YouTube.  After watching it, I will never again feel safe driving past Nibbles Woodaway aka "The Big Blue Bug" on I-95 in Providence again....

Fun - I probably mentioned this one before but "Beginning of the End" is the best Mil-Radio movie I have seen.  Classic 1957 B sci-fi horror flick with Peter Graves.  Giant grasshoppers eat Chicago etc.

They are all there, from BC-610. BC-611, BC 659, BC-669 IIRC.  Been awhile.  Their props guy was obviously a mil radio squirrel for sure...  HiHi

See movies like "Die Hard" and "Windtalkers." " I'm even more amazed by the incredible long range capabilities.  Inside a huge alien spacecraft with multiple heavy doors - and the little FRS style handy talkies work fine.  Mulder's in an buried railroad refrigerator car in the middle of the vast unpopulated New Mexico desert and his cellphone works just fine to call up Scully.  Well, at least in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow the guy in the P-40B was using CW.
