[ARC5] Receiver Tube Substitution

A recent purchase of an R-23 / ARC-5 receiver contained a surprise.  The
12SK7 RF Amp was replaced with a 12SJ7 tube.  Does anyone have any
experience with this substitution?  Would this have been done on purpose to
improve the operation of the receiver?
