[ARC5] Radio Electronics Magazine

CQ apparently absorbed Worldradio when that mag would have died. I've been a CQ subscriber since late 1953 or early 1954. I bought several issues at newsstands. I think the May 1953 May "Mobile" issue was the first one I bought, even before I got my novice ticket. It still comes, mostly regularly, even though they got behind a month or two fairly recently. It's the only mag I didn't drop while I was in college.

The same company that published CQ also published Popular Communications (or was it Monitoring Times...?); and if I remember right, CQ absorbed Worldradio about 5-6 years back (what a pity!).

Am I correct in thinking that CQ has died, along with these other publications?

I visited a CQ Magazine booth at the Charlotte, NC hamfest in 2008 or 2009, and heard their pitch for selling subscriptions, how the magazine was "looking for ways to meet your needs." I came away with the impression that CQ was a walking dead horse looking for a hole to fall into. Mostly endless contest reports, and an ad rag.
