There are already those who ship container loads of vehicles from antiques, hot rods, muscle cars and more plus parts between the US and Australia. Check what goes on in your area and see if you can piggy back some small packages.

May I suggest you guys organize a freight forwarding group, whereby an interested person in each country, living in or near a port city, is able to pack a Gaylord skid full of boat anchors, and move it economically via sea, the redistribute at the other end? There seems to be enough material moving from the US to Australia and vic versa to warrant such a system, Just a thought.

Ultimate frugality may require removing tubes and crystal if available at the other end. Even some sheet metal may qualify.

Hi Jim
Thanks for your data point. $123 From the east coast seem in line with $95 from California.

I shipped a Heath T-17 to New Zealand recently.
11 pounds total in a well padded box was $95 via USPS. UPS and FEDEX were both $320.
Cheers!
