And yet the Finns loved the Buffalo and even came up with a wooden version of their own called the Humu.

Against Russian aircraft, the Finns had fantastic results. Which asks the question as to if the tactics, used by United States forces, were inferior or to just what the success of the Finns, with the Buffalo, can be attributed.

Yes, 1943 was a TYPO! FAT FINGERS! It was 1942. This is covered in the Squadron/Signal book on the Buffalo. The problem with the Buffalo on carriers was the carrier landings bent the landing gear backwards. They worked OK on the ground landings. But by the start of the war the Buffalo was already obsolete. That's why the Navy gave them to the Marines! None of the Buffalos at Midway survived the first attack on the Japs.
