And it's a regular, probably daily occurrence. A few weeks back I got a
very clean CBY-29125 ATA antenna relay for a whopping $30 (item
#252333939382). It's missing the loading cap in back, otherwise looks like
new. The seller had it listed as Antenna Relay Unit/Antenna Current
Indicator Relay Unit Navy Bureau. It was a Buy it Now for $49.95 which
wasn't bad, but they also had "Or Best Offer" which appeals to my Scottish
blood. I offered, they countered, we agreed on $30 plus the shipping which
was $11.80 via Priority. Had pretty much given up on finding one and *boom*
- there it was on my doorstep. Even have a spare back with loading cap in a
box somewhere. The amazing part is, 2 other people were watching it and no
one had grabbed it or made an offer. I think the Best Offer option has
likely been the best idea for sales ebay has had in a long time.

I saw a plain jane plug-in drawer for one of the receivers bring over $50
not long ago. Same with those little local tuning cranks - $40, $50, $60,
crazy prices. Then one will go for $5 with only one bid. Anyone who claims
they can tell you the value or selling price of any of this stuff via ebay
on any given day has as much chance of being right as the weatherman with
his forecast.

Now, if I can just find the correct CBY shock mount for it I can send a
FT-229-A to a needy Command set home.
