Several months ago someone asked for what I think is the information 
I've uploaded here.    I found this one-page writeup for adding a 
product detector, AVC, and a selectable sideband BFO inside a manual for 
another piece of gear and while it's the work of W9QAZ and K9DUI, I 
don't recall seeing it published anywhere, although it may have been.   
   I took me a while to find it again!

All I know about it is what you see here, and haven't tried it myself I 
have used the same dual-triode mixer and the rest certainly looks like 
it should do what it's intended to do.  Clearly a project for those able 
to work from minimal information and wiling to redo the audio section of 
a 453 - fortunately there are enough of them that shouldn't be a problem.

I think the original request was for "not the Stoner mod" so I think 
this is what he was looking for, and apologize for not keeping the 
request so I could send it directly.  Hopefully it was someone on this 
reflector, but in any case, I figured it would be of interest to others 
here.
