[ARC5] Manufacturing and expertise, (was Switching DC-DC Power Supplies)

Hello All,
There are two points here. So - the chip has only Chinese
identification?
In the long run, engineering expertise migrates to the geographical
location where items are made.
This is because the manufacturing process (and manufacturing
equipment) always reveals problems in the process or finished product.
The production line is the only place where the problem can be fixed
and is often the place where the problem is identified.
So expertise migrates to the factory (or whatever).
If a product began in USA (IC chips, for example) there is a strong
chance it will be lost to the 'host' country - in this example China.
The cycle may take decades (probably will take decades) - but the end
result is inevitable.
I'm not an economist, but I'm not sure that training in economics
gives insights like this.
