Probably true in most cases, but the chip on my converter has four Chinese characters but no numbers at all!I was very surprised to see that.

Find out which IC is used and look at the data an dapplication sheets.

By the way, does anyone have any idea how to get inside some of the 12VDC to 125VAC off-the shelf inverters and change the output voltage to something a bit lower?
