Probably a "modernized" version of that "simplest modulator". If you knew 
the title, I wouldn't mind looking it up.

I will mention again, that I used that "Simplest Modulator" many years ago 
with my DX-35 and was quite pleased with its operation and with how good it 
sounded.

Plugging it into the key jack after having loaded the transmitter up to 60 watts 
input, the plate current would drop to 1/2 what it was in CW, then talking into 
the mic would result in the plate meter flickering up a bit.

There was really no advantage to using it with the DX-35 though, since it 
already had its own CC modulation system. Even so, it was very interesting 
to learn how it would work.
