As a side note: I have a rack mounted APC UPS 24-volt version that used to run a computer cabinet. I took the little gel Cell out and hook them directly to to let us at 12 volt batteries big suckers. The UPS keeps them floating @ 27 volts. One day I forgot and left the ARC-2 dyna motor running for 18 hours. The battery stayed up without any trouble. And the radio didn't mind either.
