[ARC5] Hallicrafters S-38 is dangerous

    I've never seen one in person so I don't have an idea of how well it 
works but it, and the AC version seem to have a good reputation.  
Evidently a better receiver than the Mackay equivalent. RCA seems to 
have been fond of heavy receivers although this is no more than the 
SP-600-JX and certainly less than the AR-88.
