The Douglas A-20 was known as the Boston in RAF service and the Havoc in USAAF service. I'm planning on interviewing a WWII A-20 pilot for a possible magazine article in the near future.
I recall reading an A-26 pilot describe flying in formation while returning from a bombing mission in the vicinity of Belgium, listening to a jazz concert on Armed Forces Radio. He noted one of the other pilots waving at him and it turned out that was because one of his engines was on fire.
Now, what was he using to listen to jazz? He might have had SCR-274-N or SCR-522 or quite possibly both, but it's highly unlikely that there were music broadcasts on those frequencies. So it seems likely he was using his ADF receiver for the music.
Interestingly enough the ARN-89 I have covers from LF all the way up to 3 MHz, and it has a BFO.
