Tom,

Welcome to the club.  Wellers actually seem to work better after being glued back together a couple of times (IME).   :^)

Seriously, I’ve used JB Weld and other mix-and-use epoxies successfully on my several guns over the years.  Never broke a handle completely off though.
No advice on a big break like that but note that the things seem to go for reasonable prices on e-bay these days.
