[ARC5] Unusual LM, NOT BC-221

Well, after looking your photos over very closely, and comparing what I see
there with the manuals for the BC-221 series and for the LM series, there is
absolutely no doubt that that is a version of the LM, and NOT the BC-221.

The Modulation ON/OFF switch, the COUPLING control and the RF output
connector labled RF CPLG are ONLY on the LM, and never on any model of
the BC-221 with which I am familiar.

Furthermore, the box the frequency meter part is installed in looks exactly
like boxes I have seen which contain LMs.

I also find the "telephone" type switch labeled AC - OFF - DC to be very
significant. It also looks as though there is a connector on the side of the
power supply unit which looks suspiciously like the type of power connector
that the LM and its AC supply used. So this unit could have been used with a
battery supply in addition to an AC supply.

To me, it looks like a special one-off for a laboratory or a test facility.

It really is beautiful, and I sure wouldn't mind having one like it.

Neato, David. Thanks for showing it to us.
