Or...come up with all sorts of gimmicks and add-ons to "improve" the sets...losing the experience of operating the same radio that the military serviceman used.  :-)

Also, it is interesting how the SCR-522-A has usually been ignored and disdained by hams...even military radio fans.  But it was ONLY the single most utilized and significant aircraft radio communications set of the ETO!  In comparison our most dearly beloved SCR-274-N was a rarely used stand-by.
